
The Shreveport Fire Department received multiple calls for a report of a house fire on Oct. 13 around 1:45 am in the 3100 block of Milton St.
Engine 8 arrived on scene within 3 minutes and reported heavy smoke and flames coming from the front of the structure. All but 2 occupants were able to self-rescue prior to SFD arrival on scene. Crews made entry into the home and immediately rescued the remaining two victims inside. The victims were transported to local area hospitals with life-threatening injuries. No other injuries to firefighters or citizens have been reported at this time.
A total of 9 units, comprised of 27 firefighters, brought the incident under control by 2:13 a.m. Smoke alarms were present in the home at the time of the fire. The origin and cause of the fire remain under investigation by Shreveport Fire Arson Investigators.
