The Shreveport Police Department continues its proactive enforcement efforts to remove firearms from the hands of those prohibited from possessing them.

On October 9, Shreveport Police officers contacted Jonathan Tucker, 21, while he was operating a stolen vehicle. Further investigation revealed that Tucker was also in possession of a firearm. Officers determined that Tucker is a convicted felon and prohibited from possessing any firearm. His prior convictions include aggravated cruelty to animals, motor vehicle theft, illegal possession of a stolen firearm, and sexual battery—all offenses that disqualify him from firearm ownership.

On October 10th, officers contacted Robert Stegall, who was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia and multiple weapons. Further investigation revealed that Stegall is also a convicted felon, previously convicted of narcotics possession. He has been charged with three counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia.

The Shreveport Police Department remains committed to reducing violent crime through strict enforcement of firearm possession laws. Removing firearms from convicted felons continues to be one of the most effective strategies for keeping our community safe and preventing future offenses.
