Shreveport police officer arrested for DWI

Shreveport Police Sergeant Roland Garner was arrested by officers of the Shreveport Police Department for one count of Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) on August 2.

Sgt. Garner was contacted while operating a vehicle and was suspected of being impaired. Following
standard procedure, he was arrested and transported to the Caddo Correctional Center, where he has since bonded out.

In accordance with departmental policy, Sgt. Garner has been placed on administrative leave pending the
outcome of the internal investigation. Sgt. Garner has been employed with the Shreveport Police Department since 2005.

This is an unfortunate incident that does not reflect the values or professionalism of the Shreveport Police
Department. They remain committed to accountability and transparency in all matters involving their personnel.
