Nicholas Mims

The Shreveport Police Department arrested Nicholas Mims (DOB: 08/01/05) in connection with a
violent domestic incident involving a juvenile on July 14. Mims faces multiple felony charges, including:

  • Felony Carnal Knowledge of a Juvenile (LA RS 14:80)
  • Aggravated Assault with a Firearm (LA RS 14:37)
  • Illegal Use of a Firearm (LA RS 14:94)
  • Battery of a Dating Partner (LA RS 14:34.9)

The investigation began when officers responded to a report of a 15-year-old female victim who had been assaulted by her boyfriend. Medical personnel treated the victim at a local hospital, where she disclosed a months-long sexual relationship with the suspect. According to the victim, the assault occurred after an argument escalated, during which Mims allegedly punched her, pulled her hair, and fired multiple shots at her with a .22 caliber rifle. The victim escaped and alerted authorities.

At the suspect’s residence, officers recovered multiple spent shell casings, which were collected as evidence.

Mims was taken into custody and found to have a sexual relationship, a physical altercation, and firing shots at the victim. Following his interview, Mims was booked into the Shreveport City Jail.
