Shreveport Police officers were dispatched to the 2500 block of Hollywood Avenue in reference to a reported stabbing on July 13, at approximately 9:36am. 

Upon arrival, officers made contact with the victim, who stated that her 19-year-old daughter—identified as Trista Schroeder (DOB: 03/03/2006)—had stabbed her and taken custody of a 1-year-old child, whom the victim is the legal guardian of.

According to the victim, the incident occurred while she was driving near the intersection of Hollywood
Avenue and Hearne Avenue. Schroeder allegedly produced a pocketknife, stabbed the victim multiple times in the right arm, and struck her in the face several times—all in the presence of the child.

The child was later safely returned to the victim. A pocketknife believed to be used in the attack was found on Schroeder at the time of her arrest.

Schroeder was transported to the Shreveport City Jail and booked on the following charges:

• Domestic Abuse Battery with a Dangerous Weapon (La. R.S. 14:35.3(O))
• Simple Kidnapping (La. R.S. 14:45)
• Domestic Abuse Battery with Child Endangerment

The investigation remains ongoing.
