When the Bossier Parish Community College Cavaliers baseball team plays host to Angelina Saturday afternoon, offensive fireworks are expected after Wednesday’s series-opening slugfest.

The Cavaliers showcased their offensive prowess, overcoming a mid-game deficit to defeat the Roadrunners 15-11 at Lufkin, Texas, in a thrilling Region 14 matchup. The Cavs improved to 32-16 overall and 17-11 in conference play.

BPCC jumped to an early 5-0 lead, capitalizing on an aggressive approach at the plate. However, Angelina battled back, seizing an 8-6 lead by the bottom of the sixth inning.

Leading the offensive charge was Tyrus Hall, who went 3-for-5 with two home runs and three RBI. Jacob Gillis went 4-for-5 with a home run and three RBI. Brandon Levy had two hits, including a home run, and drove in four runs. The Cavs’ relentless attack produced 15 total hits, including six extra-base hits, overwhelming Angelina’s pitching staff.

On the mound, Ben McKinnon earned the win for BPCC, delivering five innings while allowing three runs and striking out four. The Cavaliers’ bullpen held firm, ensuring the late surge was enough to seal the victory.

The rematch in a Saturday doubleheader starts at 1 p.m. in Bossier City on the BPCC campus.
