
Uniformed patrol officers with the SPD responded to a reported assault at 606 W. 68th Street on Tuesday, April 1, at approximately 3:36pm.
Investigators determined that the suspect, Shaunlexis George Stafford, unlawfully entered her mother’s
residence and violently attacked her sister, striking her multiple times on various parts of her body with a
hammer. Authorities also learned that Stafford assaulted her mother while she was sleeping, striking her
multiple times on the right side of her head.
As a result of the attack, the victims sustained severe injuries. The mother remains in life-threatening
condition in the ICU, while the sister is listed as critical but stable.
Following the investigation, homicide detectives obtained warrants for Shaunlexis George Stafford on two
counts of Attempted Second-Degree Murder.
At this time, investigators believe that Stafford has fled to Texas. Law enforcement agencies are actively
working to locate and apprehend her.
