Shreveport Fire Department was dispatched at 9:53am on Friday, March 21, to reports of a mobile RV fire in the 6500 Block of W. 70th St. The call was made by a neighbor who noticed smoke and flames coming from the mobile residence.

Engine 16 arrived first on scene within minutes of being dispatched and reported heavy smoke and flames coming from the front section of the mobile RV in Lot 30. Fire crews made entry into the mobile home using forcible entry techniques. While performing a coordinated fire attack along with search and rescue, Engine 16 crew located a victim in a bedroom portion of the mobile home.

Fire crews performed resuscitative efforts on scene and the victim was transported to a local hospital by SFD Medic 13 with life-threatening injuries. It took the efforts of 10 units and 18 firefighters and support personnel to bring the incident under control in several minutes. No working smoke alarms were located inside the mobile RV. Fortunately, no injuries were reported to any Shreveport Firefighter.

The origin and cause of the fire remain under investigation at this time by Shreveport Fire Arson Investigators.
