A new phone scam is making the rounds, and the Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office is making sure the public stays informed and protected.

 

Recently, people have been receiving calls from someone claiming to be Detective Donnie Keith with the Bossier Sheriff’s Criminal Investigation Division. This is NOT a legitimate call from the Bossier Sheriff’s Office.

 

If anyone receives a call like this, do not provide any personal information, payment, or follow any instructions. Always verify the identity of anyone claiming to be law enforcement before sharing any information.

 

Stay vigilant. As always, if anyone suspects they are dealing with a scam, hang up and report it to local authorities.
