VCAT crackdown: Illegal firearms seized, multiple arrests

The Shreveport Police Department’s Violent Crimes Abatement Team (VCAT) continues to make our city safer by removing illegal guns from the streets.
 
Jamil Brook was arrested after a traffic stop on W. 59th St. led to the discovery of a firearm modified to be fully automatic. He was charged with Illegal Possession of a Machine Gun, Possession of Marijuana, and Traffic Offenses.
 
Jayden Jefferson was arrested at 3020 Colquitt Rd. after officers found a semi-auto pistol, marijuana, and empty shell casings. He now faces charges of Possession of Marijuana Over 14 Grams and Illegal Carrying of a Weapon with CDS.
 
Sekory Jones was taken into custody after VCAT, SPD Warrants Unit, and the Shreveport City Marshal’s Office executed an arrest warrant at 3517 Penick St. Officers found a firearm and marijuana in plain view inside his bedroom. He’s been charged with Possession of a Firearm by a Felon, Possession of Marijuana Over 14 Grams, and Illegal Carrying of a Weapon with CDS.
