Shreveport native Sam Burns got in the mix in his first PGA Tour start of 2025 during the toughest conditions of the week Saturday at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, but couldn’t keep pace with the leaders in the final round and tied for 22nd.
Burns moved as high as eighth in the standings while high winds and rain challenged the 80-man field at Pebble Beach Saturday but eventually finished with a very solid two-under 70 to stand tied for 16th. Sunday, he carded a one-under 71 and finished at 10-under 278, including a 68-69 start over the first two days.
That earned him a $158,270 payday. Rory McIlroy ran away Sunday and won $3.6 million with his closing 66 for a 21-under 267 total.
Burns, the Calvary Baptist graduate and former LSU All-American, had a fast start out west last season and will remain on the Tour this week at the WM Phoenix Open.
