The Shreveport-Bossier City area is celebrating the arrival of its first baby of the new year. Charlie Wayne Maines was born at Willis-Knighton Pierremont in Shreveport at 1:09 a.m. on Jan. 1.

Proud parents Haleigh and Trenice Maines of Many welcomed their son, who weighed in at 8 pounds, 1 ounce, and measured 19 inches long.

The hospital staff joined the family in celebrating this milestone, marking the beginning of 2025 with joy and excitement.
