SPD officers were proactively patrolling on Dec. 24 shortly after 10pm in the Mansfield Rd. and Jewella Ave. corridor when they conducted a traffic stop on a white Chevy Malibu.

During the stop, the officers identified the driver as Jeffrey James. Upon further investigation, it was discovered that James had an outstanding warrant for Aggravated Assault with a Firearm. Additionally, officers found that James was in possession of a firearm despite being prohibited from doing so due to his status as a convicted felon.

James was arrested on the outstanding warrant and charged with Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.
