After a Tuesday night women’s game at the Gold Dome, Centenary basketball is taking a break for the Thanksgiving holiday.
Meanwhile, honors have arrived for football – five Shreveport-Bossier high school products were on the list — and academic accolades were issued for women’s soccer competitors. You can read all about it on a redesigned website for Centenary sports.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL: The Ladies lost 62-48 to the Hendrix College Warriors on Tuesday evening in a non-conference contest inside the Gold Dome.
The Ladies (1-5) have lost four games in a row and were beaten by the Warriors (4-3) for the second time after dropping a 69-48 decision on the road to open the season on Nov. 10.
Junior guard Amiyah Barrow and freshman forward Anaya Yunusah each scored 12 points to lead the Ladies Tuesday night.
The Ladies next play at home next Wednesday, Dec. 4 to open league play against the University of the Ozarks at 5:30 p.m.
MEN’S BASKETBALL: The Gents fell 75-63 to the host Millsaps Majors on Saturday in the Millsaps College Tournament. Centenary, 1-5, returns to action on Dec. 4 at home as the Maroon and White begin conference play against the University of the Ozarks in the second part of a doubleheader at the Gold Dome.
FOOTBALL: Twelve Gents were included on the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Football Team announced Tuesday, selected by the SCAC head coaches and sports information directors.
Centenary’s first-year program had seven first-team selections, including true freshman safety Jacob Wilson from Evangel Christian and sophomore defensive tackle D’Qavion Lemons out of Southwood.
Three other locals were honorable mention selections: junior running back Josh Ware (Southwood), sophomore defensive end Kris Mesloh (Parkway) and sophomore linebacker Devon Strickland (Byrd).
Other defenders from the Maroon and White named first-team All-SCAC were end Gavin Jack, linebacker Vance Feuerbacher and cornerback Bryan Washington.
Representing the Gents on the first-team offense were sophomore guard Jordan Taylor and junior receiver Kobe Chambers. Chambers made the first team at WR and kick returner.
Other Centenary honorable mention selections were center Alexander Hamilton and tight end Isaiah King.
WOMEN’S SOCCER: Junior midfielder Madi Cooley and junior defender/midfielder Kylie Zeller were named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team. Competitors must have a 3.2 cumulative GPA and be key contributors on their teams to be nominated. CSC members in the district vote to select the winners.
