
Bossier Schools will feature numerous celebratory events planned in honor of Veterans Day. The public is invited to attend these events and seeing the many the schools are honoring our heroes.
Monday, November 11
Kingston Elementary
7:30am – Kingston will host a Veterans Day breakfast at 7:30 a.m. for students along with their military family in the gym.
Legacy Elementary
8:20am Veterans Breakfast
9am Veterans Program
Legacy will host a veterans breakfast at 8:20 a.m. honoring all who serve or have served. A program will follow at 9 a.m.
Haughton Middle School
8:30am – Haughton Middle School will host a refreshment social at 8:30 a.m. for veterans prior to a Veterans Day assembly at 9 a.m. which will feature the Haughton High School JROTC. The program will coincide with the HMS Aerospace Assembly.
R.V. Kerr Elementary
8:30am – R.V. Kerr Elementary is hosting a breakfast at 8:30 a.m. for veterans and their families. The Kinder Kats will be performing patriotic songs in honor of our veterans.
Benton Elementary
9am – Benton Elementary will have a Veterans Day Breakfast and Heroes Walk at 9 a.m.
Parkway High School Tattoo Ceremony
9am – Parkway JROTC will host its annual Tattoo Ceremony at 9 a.m. in the auxiliary gym. This year’s theme is “Unbroken: The 1936 Olympics.” It is recommended that guests arrive at 8:30 a.m. for parking and seating.
Princeton Elementary
9am – Princeton Elementary will have a Veterans Day program at 9 a.m.
Cope Middle School
9am – Cope Middle School will host a Veterans Day program at 9 a.m. in the school gym. The program will be led by the Cope Ambassadors, the school’s Military Club. Cope Band and Cope Choir will also perform and there will be a guest speaker from Barksdale Air Force Base. Cope parents/guardians are invited to attend.
Sun City Elementary
9:15am and 10am – Sun City will host its Veterans Assembly during two shifts. Third grade classes will perform patriotic songs, then any students with veterans present will introduce them.
Butler Educational Complex
10am -Butler Educational Complex is planning a Veterans Day program at 10 a.m. Bossier Schools’ Homeless and Migrant Liaison Arcenia Anthony, an Army Veteran, will be the speaker and there will be a special performance by Bossier High School AFJROTC.
Apollo Elementary
12:45pm – Apollo will have a Veterans Day program at 12:45 p.m. in the school gym.
Stockwell Place Elementary
1pm – Stockwell Place will have a Veterans Day Parade and student-led assembly at 1 p.m. All veterans and current military members connected to Stockwell students are invited to the parade and assembly being held in their honor. The assembly will feature the honor choir, cheerleader performances and student presentations of spoken word pieces themed around service, sacrifice, courage and hope for the future. A reception will follow.
Bellaire Elementary
1pm – Bellaire will hold a Veterans Day assembly at 1 p.m.
Airline High School Color Guard
1:30pm – The Airline High School Color Guard will Present the Colors at the ribbon cutting of the north/south corridor of the Swan Lake extension.
Plain Dealing High School
1:30pm – A Veterans Day program is scheduled at 1:30 p.m. at Plain Dealing High School.
Elm Grove Middle School
1:30pm – Elm Grove Middle School will have a Veterans Day assembly at 1:30 p.m. in the gym, featuring the Parkway High School Color Guard, the EGMS band, student participants and a guest speaker.
