CROSS COUNTRY: Centenary hosted the SCAC Championships last Saturday at South Bossier Park. The Gents had four runners compete so did not record a team score and the Ladies did not have anyone compete. Colorado College won both the men’s and women’s titles.
Philip Hughes was the Gents’ top finisher as he placed 87th overall in a time of 30:58.01.
MEN’S SOCCER: The Gents fell 4-0 Sunday to the Trinity Tigers in an SCAC match and their season finale in San Antonio. The Gents finish at 7-9-2 overall and 3-7-1 in SCAC play.
Freshman goalkeeper Sebastian Lutin finished off an impressive rookie season as he finishes with a conference-leading 102 saves and ranks in the top 20 in the country. He posted a goals-against average of 1.50 and a save percentage of .810. He made 16 starts, tallied one shutout, and had four matches with 10+ saves. He made a season-high 16 saves at Colorado College on Oct. 6, finishing one save shy of the Gents’ Division III era (2011-present) single-match record of 17 and his 16 saves are the most in a match by a SCAC player all season.
Lutin entered the weekend ranked in the top 50 in the nation in both in saves per game and save percentage.
The Gents’ seven victories this season are their most since winning eight in 2019 and their three conference wins are their most since winning three in 2020.
WOMEN’S SOCCER: The Ladies lost 4-0 Sunday in San Antonio to the Trinity Tigers in a conference match and the season finale. The Ladies (3-13-2, 1-9-0 SCAC) lost their ninth match in a row and finished 0-9-2 on the road. Sophomore goalkeeper Zoe Keller played all 90 minutes and made six saves. Keller started 10 matches this season and finished with 72 saves, a 2.21 GAA (goals against average), and a .750 save percentage.
VOLLEYBALL: The Ladies lost a heartbreaker in five sets to the University of Dallas Crusaders on Sunday afternoon in their annual Senior Day match inside the Gold Dome. The Ladies (1-23, 0-13 SCAC) held an 11-8 lead in set five and were just four points from clinching the match, but the Crusaders (2-25, 2-11) finished on a 7-0 run to claim the decisive fifth set. Centenary was seeking its first SCAC win since defeating St. Thomas on Oct. 9, 2021.
Centenary, 1-9 on its home court this season, closes the regular season next weekend on the road with league matches against host Southwestern and Trinity in Georgetown, Texas.
The Ladies finished Sunday’s match with 104 digs, 48 kills, 44 assists – all season-high totals, along with eight service aces (second-most in a match this season) and a season-high tying four solo blocks.
