The Shreveport Police Department (SPD) is deeply saddened to announce the passing of Tim, our cherished mounted patrol horse. Tim, who had recently retired, was found deceased over the weekend at the SPD Coral.
Tim joined the SPD family in 2012, coming to us from Caddo Parish Livestock. Affectionately known as “Mule Face” by those who knew him, Tim served with distinction and dedication for over a decade. His service was marked by his unwavering loyalty, calm demeanor, and strong bond with his fellow officers.
At 30 years of age, Tim had lived a long and fulfilling life, leaving an indelible mark on the Shreveport Police Department. His presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of working alongside him.
We ask that you please keep the SPD Mounted Patrol unit in your thoughts during this difficult time. As the saying goes, “Two legs move your body, but four legs move your soul.” Tim’s spirit will forever remain a part of our department.
