Shreveport PD celebrates D.A.R.E. Graduates

As the school year draws to a close, the Shreveport Police Department proudly honors the fifth-grade graduates of the D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) program across various elementary schools in the city. For the past 17 weeks, dedicated officers have engaged with these students, instilling essential life skills, and empowering them to make positive choices for their futures.

The D.A.R.E. program goes beyond traditional drug education. It equips students with the tools to navigate life’s challenges, emphasizing responsibility, critical thinking, and effective communication. Throughout the program, students delve into topics such as resisting peer pressure, managing stress, and identifying and reporting bullying behavior.

Shreveport Police’s commitment to the youth of Shreveport extends far beyond law enforcement, Through D.A.R.E., we aim to cultivate a generation of informed, resilient, and empowered individuals who will contribute positively to our community.
