Bossier Parish students are SMART

There are four SMART Bossier Parish students who the district is proud to celebrate.

Airline High senior Hannah Fry was honored recently for completing the year-long Bobbie Cates Hicks Science and Medicine Academic Research Training (SMART) program, which is an extension of BRF and LSU Health Shreveport. Upon graduation, Hannah will continue her studies at LA Tech University. Bossier Schools Assistant Superintendent Waylon Bates and Science Curriculum Coordinator Henry Mejia were there to applaud Hannah’s impressive achievements.

Now, it is three other Bossier Parish students’ turns to become SMART researchers. Mykenze Newell, Benton High; Georgia Price, Airline; and Andrew Sarvis, Parkway, all received their white coats. We will be cheering them on as they begin their academic internships this summer.
