Tracey Rambin is retiring at the close of the school year at Benton High School, capping a 22-year coaching career that has earned her statewide acclaim as she compiled 415 wins at Mansfield, Airline and Benton.
The veteran educator and coach will inducted into the Louisiana Softball Coaches Association Hall of Fame May 11 in Pineville during the organization’s All-Star Weekend.
Rambin has been coaching at Benton since 2021. She has spent 33 years altogether in education, and in the 22 seasons she was a high school head coach, compiled a 415-244 record and advanced 15 teams to the playoffs with four state quarterfinal appearances, two semifinalists and one state runner-up team.
Among her accolades, Rambin served as head coach of the West team in the LSCA All-Star Game, and won several coach of the year honors on all-district and all-area teams.
Rambin also was elected to serve from 2007-09 as president of the LSCA, an organization she’s been involved with for 27 years. She was on the executive committee for three separate terms.
“Coach Rambin has impacted numerous athletes over the years with her positive attitude and dedication to the sport,” Benton High principal Whitney Clark said. “It will be difficult to fill the void she will leave, but her Tiger family wishes her the best as she begins her well-deserved retirement.”
Said North DeSoto assistant coach Wade Strother, a member of the LSCA executive committee and the organization’s past president: “Tracey has been successful at all three stops of her career and has always been willing to mentor new coaches. She just does it like it’s supposed to be done.”
The school board announcement said officials are opening the position for applicants. Questions and applications can be directed to Benton athletic director Reynolds Moore via at Reynolds.Moore@BossierSchools.org via e-mail.
