National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week officially kicked off with a proclamation ceremony and annual Oreo stacking contest between public safety agencies. Tommy Mazzone, the executive director of Caddo 911, expressed his gratitude to the agencies and their communications officers.
Shreveport Mayor Tom Arceneaux and Caddo Sheriff Jay Long also gave their proclamations.
Shreveport Police won the trophy for the tallest stack of Oreos. However, Caddo sheriff’s deputy LaQuita Chambers won the highest in the communications officer division.
Throughout the week, the communications officers will enjoy food and fun during their breaks while continuing to provide excellent service as your 911 dispatchers.
