That was the topic of this year’s Optimist Club essay scholarship contest and three Bossier Parish students are a few hundred dollars richer after putting pen to paper and expressing their thoughts about the subject.

Congratulations to the winners:

1st Place — Hannah Addison, 12th grade, Haughton High School

2nd Place — Cayden Folsom, 12th grade, Benton High School

3rd Place — Lily Salley, 6th grade, Benton Intermediate

Special thanks to the Optimist Club of Bossier City for honoring these students! They truly live up to their motto, by being “A Friend of Youth.”
