In a solemn ceremony held on Jan. 31 at CHRISTUS Highland Medical Center, Casey Robertson, the newly appointed president and CEO of the CHRISTUS Shreveport-Bossier Health System, was commissioned and blessed by the Rev. Monsignor Rothell Price of the Catholic Diocese of Shreveport.

During the ceremony, Price emphasized the gravity of Robertson’s role, acknowledging the weight of the challenges that come with it. He underscored that the work undertaken is not merely a professional duty but a divine calling that necessitates God’s grace and guidance.

“The challenges you face will be eased through a faithful following of the mission, which has served as a light for our sponsoring congregations since the original call of Bishop Dupuis,” Price stated.

Robertson, bringing nearly 20 years of healthcare administration experience, including over a decade at the CEO level, expressed his commitment to the Lord’s work in healthcare. Having previously served as the chief operating officer at CHRISTUS Good Shepherd Health System in Longview, Texas, Robertson officially assumed his role in Shreveport on Dec. 4.

Reflecting on the healthcare landscape in Shreveport, Robertson acknowledged the dedication of the healthcare professionals, emphasizing the divine nature of their work. He praised CHRISTUS for living out its faith every day and expressed his excitement about the future endeavors in the community.

Chris Glenney, senior vice president of Group Operations for CHRISTUS Health Northeast Texas and North Louisiana, highlighted the significance of Robertson’s role, emphasizing the importance and challenges inherent in leading a health system. The ceremony served as a moment to pause, celebrate, and officially commission Casey Robertson for the substantial responsibilities he undertakes on behalf of the community and CHRISTUS Health.
