A change in leadership is coming to the Shreveport Regional Arts Council (SRAC).

The Shreveport-Bossier Journal has learned that long time executive director Pam Atchison is retiring, officially leaving her position at the end of April. SRAC’s new executive director is expected to be Rebecca Bonnevier, general manager of Brookshire Grocery Arena in Bossier City.

Neither Atchison or Bonnevier returned the Journal’s inquiries. However, an informed source told the Journal that Atchison will become Director of Christmas in the Sky, SRAC’s bi-annual major fundraising event which has become a social staple. The 20th Christmas in the Sky event will take place in December.

A meeting of SRAC’s Board of Directors is scheduled for 11am today, at which time board members will be introduced to Bonnevier. A Pennsylvania native, Bonnevier has been in her position at Brookshire Grocery Arena (which is part of the company ASM Global), since 2014. She also served as the arena’s marketing director for five years in the late 1990’s and early 2000’s.

Atchison has been with SRAC since 1982, and has led the organization since 1986.
