On January 2, an incident unfolded on LA 169 between Haygood Rd and Hwy. 71, resulting in the closure of all lanes. Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office (CPSO) responded to a minor accident involving an overturned 18-wheeler tanker transporting hazardous chemicals. The tanker’s overturn led to chemical spillage on the road, necessitating immediate containment measures and prompting the closure.

Authorities promptly contacted the Louisiana State Police Haz Mat Hotline for assistance. Additionally, the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality took charge of the situation, leading the investigation and mitigation efforts.

As of now, the road closure has been resolved, and all traffic lanes have been reopened following successful containment procedures.
