Multipack Services invests $10.4 million in Caddo Parish expansion

Multipack Services, a prominent player in beverage manufacturing, packaging, and distribution, has disclosed plans to funnel $10.4 million into setting up a cutting-edge production facility in Caddo Parish. This venture marks a pivotal move as the Shreveport site gears up to cater to nationally renowned beverage brands.

The establishment of this facility anticipates the creation of 141 direct job openings, offering an average annual salary surpassing $51,000. Additionally, Louisiana Economic Development foresees a ripple effect, estimating an additional 228 indirect job opportunities, potentially summing up to 369 new jobs across the Northwest Region.

Governor John Bel Edwards acknowledged Louisiana’s thriving manufacturing sector, emphasizing its role in job creation and the cultivation of opportunities for the state’s skilled workforce. He extended gratitude to Multipack for recognizing the strategic advantages of anchoring its operations hub in the Northwest Region.

This state-of-the-art facility aims to provide a gamut of services, including product customization and design, while remaining adaptable to market fluctuations. Expected to churn out over 100 million units annually, the site will produce an array of beverages, spanning from lemonade and soda to teas, cocktails, seltzers, and juice products.

Multipack’s Vice President of Operations, Justin Wilkinson, expressed satisfaction in collaborating with the state of Louisiana, LED, and local entities like the Caddo Parish Industrial Development Board and BRF. The decision to select Shreveport was rooted in the region’s advantageous connectivity to major U.S. markets and programs such as LED FastStart, ensuring a skilled workforce for the facility.

Leasing existing warehouse and office space on Valley View Drive in south Shreveport, Multipack anticipates commencing facility enhancements early next year, with production slated to kick off by the third quarter of 2024.

The Caddo Parish Industrial Development Board hailed Multipack’s arrival, acknowledging the boost in job creation and manufacturing opportunities it brings to the parish. This move aligns with recent economic development strides, underlining the region’s positive momentum in manufacturing employment.

To solidify the project in Shreveport, Louisiana extended a competitive incentives package to Multipack, including a $1.5 million performance-based grant for infrastructure and building enhancements, contingent upon meeting investment and payroll targets. LED FastStart’s comprehensive workforce development solutions and participation in the state’s Quality Jobs program further bolster the support.

In sync with efforts from various entities such as BRF, LED, North Louisiana Economic Partnership, and the local Caddo Parish Industrial Development Board, Multipack’s decision to invest signifies a recognition of the logistical and economic advantages North Louisiana offers for business operations.
