Calvary now one of seven with four state titles

Calvary Baptist, with its fourth-quarter rally towards its Select Division III state championship Saturday afternoon in the Caesars Superdome, claimed its fourth title to join six other schools around Louisiana with that many.

The 2023 LHSAA Prep Classic this weekend had Catholic-Baton Rouge also win its fourth title. Other schools coming away winners this year included Ruston and Oak Grove who each won a ninth state football championship. Seven of the eight champions were adding to their state crown collection, Southern Lab won its sixth, St. Thomas More won No. 5, Union Parish captured its second and only Opelousas took home its first.
