
Bossier Sheriff Julian Whittington recently presided over a significant event at the Bossier Parish Courthouse, administering the Oath of Affirmation to five new deputies. In a morning ceremony held in the Sheriff’s Conference Room, Deputies Michael Hooker, Jemel Johnson, Joshua Rushing, Judson Smith, and Shay Taylor officially joined the esteemed ranks of the Bossier Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff Whittington expressed his honor in welcoming the new deputies, stating, “It is an honor to swear you in and I welcome you to the Bossier Sheriff’s Office.”
These newly inducted deputies will embark on their careers at one of the BSO correctional facilities, contributing to the agency’s mission. The Bossier Sheriff’s Office extends an invitation to individuals seeking a fulfilling career path that makes a positive impact within the community. Prospective deputies must be 21 years old, while the office also offers a corrections officer position for applicants aged 18 and above.
