Bossier Parish Community College ran out to an early lead in dispatching of Delgado 90-58 Monday night in the Dacari Markray Classic held at the Billy Montgomery Gym.
The Cavaliers, now 4-4 on the year, got out to a 23-8 advantage in the first half lead and were never headed off.
Jahlil Bethea led four Cavs in double figures with 25 points, followed by former Ruston standout Braylan McNeal with 24. John Awoke had 14 and Nicholas Kaigler tallied 13.
BPCC plays again today in the second day of the classic against East Central Community College at 2 p.m. That game follows the first game between Panola and Delgado that starts at noon.
To honor the tournament’s namesake, the former Doyline High School great who was lost as a freshman at BPCC, the last game of the classic will feature Doyline High School and Plain Dealing High School at 7 p.m.
