The Shreveport Mavericks finished off the weekend Sunday afternoon with a 151-91 rout of Pearland at the Lakeside Park Recreation Center to run their The Basketball League win streak to seven games.
Shreveport now sports an 18-3 mark on the season with another home outing slated for Tuesday back at the Gold Dome against the Oklahoma Panthers.
The Mavericks rested four of their starters Sunday giving PJ Meyers, Paul Parks, Ty Jordan and Jay Hedgeman the day off after a hard-fought 112-107 defeat of Little Rock Saturday night at the Gold Dome.
Rookie guard Jeff Boyd had a career-high 31 points to lead Shreveport Sunday as seven Mavs went for double digits. Tavin Cummings ran the show in place of Mosley and scored 20 along with big Gracin Bakumanya. Kadavion Evans only played in the first half, getting all 19 of his points in the second quarter. A trio of big guys were all next as Madit Maliet added a career-high 19 and Winford Ross and Bilal Richardson both had 18.
The Mavericks cruised in Sunday’s game, leading by a sizable margin 77-46 at the half.
Saturday’s game was a bit different as the Mavs never could distance themselves comfortably from the Lightning.
