The Louisiana Soccer Coaches Association announced its Freshman All-State soccer teams this weekend with five local girls and three local boys voted onto first teams, while three more girls were voted to second-team honors.
The girls’ side is led by Caddo Magnet forward Isabella Baltov, who was also voted to the overall All-State team last month. Captain Shreve placed defender Eva Snead on first team, with midfielder Ryleigh Cram on the second team. Byrd also placed a player on the first team, in midfielder Georgia Gulett, and defender Mys Crawford on the second team. Loyola midfielder Grace Shepherd and Calvary’s Ryleigh Willcutt were voted onto the Division IV first team. Benton placed its star defender, Karsyn Best, on the second team.
On the boys’ side, Bossier put its next great midfielder, Wilson Alvarado, on the first team. Benton’s Joey McKenna was rewarded with his hard work on defense, with a first-team honor. Loyola’s Zeke Savant took the Flyers by storm and was noticed for his efforts with his first-team placement.
