Parkway rising junior star Mikaylah Williams was named one of five finalists Tuesday by the Atlanta Tipoff Club for the Jersey Mike’s Naismith High School Girls Trophy.
Williams is the only junior named and is also a Jersey Mike’s Naismith first team All-America selection and will be honored for her achievement in the spring.
The winner of the girls trophy will be named March 4, a day after the announcement of the Jersey Mike’s Naismith High School Girls Coach of the Year.
“These finalists represent the nation’s top high school girls players and coaches who have enjoyed remarkable success this season, through their play on the court or their leadership from the sidelines,” said Eric Oberman, executive director of the Atlanta Tipoff Club. “The final few weeks of this season will be extremely competitive among the candidates as it always is, which makes narrowing the list down to one winner for each award an exciting challenge for our voters.”
Williams has helped lead Parkway to a 29-2 record and No. 2 ranking in the Class 5A playoffs. She averaged 22.6 points, 8.1 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game during the regular season.
“Jersey Mike’s salutes the top five candidates for the Jersey Mike’s Naismith High School Girls Trophy. We are proud to be associated with these incredibly talented high school basketball players,” said Rich Hope, chief marketing officer, Jersey Mike’s Franchise Systems, Inc.
