Benton, Caddo Magnet, Captain Shreve and Loyola all moved forward to the quarterfinal round of the LHSAA girls soccer playoffs over the weekend.

Magnet rolled past Beau Chene 7-0 Friday night in a Division II girls second round playoff game at Lee Hedges Stadium.

The No. 2 Lady Mustangs got the best of the 15th-seeded visitors as Audrey Jordan’s two goals led the way. Other Magnet goals came from Toni Sapp, Merritt Hughes, Gaffney Nelson, Caroline Wilemon and Addison Tipton. Jordan and Wilemon added two assists each and Hughes one. Tipton, normally a keeper, was put on the field and her goal came on her 16th birthday.

Magnet will host Teurlings Catholic in the quarterfinals Wednesday at 6 p.m. at Lee Hedges Stadium.

Benton, the No. 5 seed in Division II, eliminated No. 12 Franklin Parish 7-0 Saturday at Airline High School. The Lady Tigers got four goals from Jamie Willis, Peyton “Lexy” Bouillon added two and Abigail Jacobs had the last goal. Bouillon added three assists, Emerson Foster had two and Jacobs one.

Benton will travel to No. 4 Neville for its quarterfinal match Wednesday at 6 p.m.

Division I No. 4 seed Captain Shreve was able to dispatch No. 13 Baton Rouge 3-0 Sunday at Lee Hedges Stadium. Kiley Rourke had two goals and Alex Knight added the last goal. Emma Bradford, Ella Grace Davis and Knight had the assists.

The Lady Gators dominated the game from start to finish with the exception of a few minutes when the Lady Bulldogs threatened to score.

Rourke put the Lady Gators on top in the fifth minute off a pass from Bradford. In the 29th minute, Knight took a corner that found Rourke for the 2-0 halftime lead.

Davis delivered a free kick from the 50-yard line that found Knight for Shreve’s final score.

The Lady Gators will host No. 5 Dutchtown in the quarterfinals at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at Lee Hedges Stadium.

Loyola, the Division III second seed, looked like a championship contender Sunday as it dominated E.D. White at Messmer Stadium in a 4-0 win.

Kennedy Jarrett had two goals, bringing her career count to 97. Madalyn Van Devender and Emmaline Drummond each found the net. Jarrett, Drummond and Cassie Campbell had assists.

All the scoring took place in the first half, with the Flyers cruising afterwards. They will host Lutcher Charter in the quarterfinals Wednesday at 5 p.m.

Reigning Division I state champ Mt Carmel, the No. 9 seed, defeated No. 8 Byrd 1-0 in a very fast game. Both teams had their chances to score with the only goal coming on a 30-yard free kick in the second half. The Lady Jackets pressured the Lady Cubs’ goal in the closing minutes but could not get the equalizer. Emerson Roberts had three high level saves and eight in total for the Lady Jackets.

Calvary, the No. 8 seed in Division IV, got a game-tying goal in the final minute to draw even with No. 9 Louise McGehee, but fell 2-1 in sudden death overtime. Pamela Lee scored the tying goal just before the final whistle for the Lady Cavs and Ava Colvin had the assist. Keeper Peyton Lewis had 10 saves for Calvary.

Haughton, 11th-seeded in Division II, was eliminated by No. 6 seed Lakeshore 8-0 in second round match on Friday.
