Bearkats aim to increase district win streak to 47 games

Bossier High School will board a bus and head to DeSoto Parish to play Mansfield in a key District 1-3A game Friday night.

The Bearkats sport a 20-6 overall record and 5-0 in the district. The undefeated district mark stretches the Kats win streak to 46 games dating back to when they last lost to Woodlawn to start the 2017-18 district season. Bossier won the next 13 that season and have been undefeated the last three.

Mansfield, 9-6 overall and 2-0 in 1-3A, won seven of its first nine of the season before hitting a rough patch and losing four straight all to teams with winning records.

Loyola will be out to put a stop to a three-game loss skein at North Webster. The Flyers are 10-15 overall and 2-4 in 1-3A while the Knights have yet to win in 1-3A at 0-5 and are 7-17 overall.

In a non-district game, Green Oaks (9-13) takes a two-game win streak to Monroe to play Neville (20-5).

Booker T. Washington will play at Huntington with the Lions looking to pull into a tie for the District 1-4A lead. The Raiders are in first place with a 7-1 mark in 1-4A and is 15-5 overall. BTW is one game back in the district at 6-2 and sports an 18-7 overall record.

Woodlawn travels to North DeSoto in search of its 20th win in 28 games. The Knights are 5-2 in 1-4A, right on the heals of BTW. The Griffins are 3-16, 0-8 on the season.

Minden (4-21, 1-6) will host Northwood (13-12, 3-4) in the other District 1-4A game.

Evangel, 16-7, 5-3, has an open date.

District 1-5A league leader Captain Shreve takes a 19-5 overall mark and 8-1 district record to Byrd (11-11, 3-6). The Gators are coming off a come-from-behind four-point win at Benton (45-41).The Yellow Jackets will try and head off a three-game loss skein.

The two teams tied for second in 1-5A are Southwood (13-12, 7-2) and Natchitoches Central (17-5, 7-2). The Bucs will be at home against Haughton (14-11, 2-7) and the Chiefs on the road to Benton (10-19, 3-6).

Fourth place Airline (1-8, 6-3) will host Parkway (5-16, 0-9).

North Caddo will try to stay undefeated in District 1-2A when it travels to face D’Arbonne Woods. The Titans are 3-0 in district and 10-13 overall. D’Arbonne is 8-11 overall and winless in district with two losses.

Calvary, the leader in District 1-1A with a 4-0 record, will host Haynesville. The Cavaliers are 14-7 overall and have won their last six games. The Tornado have only won one game in 12 outings and are 1-3 in 1-1A.

Arcadia will bring a 7-14 overall mark and 2-1 in 1-1A to Plain Dealing (2-16, 1-3).
