Either Airline or Evangel will play for at least a share of the District 1-5A championship next week. That depends on the outcome of their matchup tonight at Evangel as the teams, both 3-1 in district, collide.

Haughton can clinch no worse than a tie for its first 1-5A title tonight with a victory at winless but dangerous Natchitoches Central, which has fallen short in the closing minutes or overtime in three of its four district defeats. The Bucs, averaging 47.5 points in their four district wins, can go 9-0 for the first time since 2010.

Calvary carries a 72-game district winning streak into its home game against winless 1-2A visitor Magnolia School of Excellence.

Northwood (5-4, 4-1 in District 1-4A) stretched its win streak to four straight blowouts Thursday night, opening a three-touchdown halftime lead and running past Southwood 56-20. Each of the four victories have been by at least 30 points. The Cowboys (1-8, 1-5) scored 20 points in the final two quarters.
