Robert Bridges, 42, of Bossier City was sentenced to four life sentences for four counts of first degree rape of a child under 13 years of age. Bridges was found guilty by a Bossier Parish jury on August 6, 2026. Prior to sentencing, the District Attorney’s office filed a motion requesting that Robert Bridges be chemically castrated in addition to his jail time. This motion was granted by Judge Charles Smith at his Oct. 27 sentencing. The judge sentenced him to life in prison on all four counts. Two of the life sentences to run concurrent, two to run consecutive. Robert Bridges will serve two consecutive life sentences and be chemically castrated.
At trial, jurors heard testimony that Bridges on multiple occasions performed sexual acts on a child under the age of thirteen. Jurors heard from the victim in the case as well as family members that had been assaulted by Robert Bridges when they were children. Evidence was also introduced at trial showing that Bridges was already a registered sex offender and had been convicted in Caddo Parish for Indecent Behavior with a Juvenile.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Chance Nerren. “Chance Nerren did an outstanding job presenting this case. The Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office delivered us an excellent case and worked with us throughout to ensure that justice was served,” noted Bossier/Webster District Attorney Schuyler Marvin. “I am glad that these victims got justice and that Robert Bridges will never be able to hurt another child again.” Marvin continued. Bridges was defended by Sarah Smith with the Public Defender’s Office
