Funeral services celebrating the life of David James Normand will be held on Tuesday, October 27, 2026 at 10:30AM at St Alphonsus Catholic Church, Hessmer, with Rev. Kenneth Michiels officiating.

Visitation will begin at 9:00AM in the Rateau Center, Hessmer, until time of service in the church.

Mr. David Normand age 63, passed away on October 22, 2026, in Hilltop Nursing Center, Pineville.

David was born April 24, 1963 in Shreveport, LA to the union of Richard L. Normand of Gulfport, Mississippi and Anita Marie Normand of Hessmer, Louisiana.

David joined the United States Navy after graduating from Pineville High School. After leaving the Navy, he worked for several years as a boat captain in the gulf. He liked anything connected to water. David also had a great love for Pitbulls, which he owned several of throughout his life. He also loved the outdoors and landscaping yards. David suffered a devastating loss when his father passed away in 1981.

David is preceded in death by his father, Richard L. Normand and his brother, James “Jimmy” Normand.

Those left to cherish his memory are his mother, Anita Marie Normand; his sister, Teresa Normand Odom; his nephews, Joseph Odom and Kendall Normand, whom he loved dearly and his very special cousin, Kirt Smith. David also leaves behind his very special friend, Dennis White, who helped with his special caring and support during David’s trying and difficult times. Dennis was also a very true friend to the whole family.

The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude and appreciation to the staff of Hilltop Nursing Center and Compassionate Care Hospice for the wonderful care they provided to David. Also a special thank you to Dustin Pelican for his care of David.

Arrangements have been placed in the care of Fall Creek Funeral Home, Pineville, Robbie Dauzat, Director.
