Two suspects charged in Shreveport jewelry theft probe

The Shreveport Police Department has confirmed the arrest of two suspects in connection with a jewelry theft investigation dating back to February.

According to police, Donnie Copeland and Kimberly Arbuckle were identified as suspects following an investigation into jewelry reportedly stolen from a woman inside her residence.

Detectives determined that Copeland allegedly took the jewelry and that Arbuckle later sold the stolen items to a local pawn shop.

During the investigation, detectives located the jewelry, placed the items on hold, and gathered sufficient evidence to obtain arrest warrants for both individuals.

Arbuckle was subsequently located in the custody of authorities in DeSoto Parish, where she was being held in connection with an unrelated matter.

Police initially announced that Copeland remained wanted on four counts of theft and requested the public’s assistance in locating him.

In an update to the original announcement, the Shreveport Police Department confirmed that Copeland had been arrested.

Authorities did not provide additional details regarding the circumstances of Copeland’s arrest or whether the recovered jewelry had been returned to its owner.

The investigation stemmed from the February incident, with detectives working to identify those responsible and recover the stolen property.

Both individuals are accused in connection with the theft investigation. The allegations and charges do not constitute a finding of guilt, and both suspects are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
