The seventh week of the high school football season includes nine district games, with league-leading Haughton and Calvary at home hoping to maintain their unbeaten seasons.
The Bucs will host a winless Byrd team that has dropped its first two District 1-5A games by a combined total of eight points, both decided in the final minute.
The Cavaliers are home against North Caddo, which begins District 1-2A competition against a Calvary team going for its 72nd consecutive district victory.
In an interesting non-district matchup, Evangel hosts Cornerstone Christian. The San Antonio-based program plays a national schedule which includes IMG Academy (Fla.), Lake Travis (Texas), Hun School (New Jersey) and St. John’s College (District of Columbia).
Unbeaten Green Oaks has an open date on its schedule. Loyola won’t play this week either, since the Flyers’ homecoming opponent, district foe Carroll, has had its season ended by an LHSAA sanction for a postgame fight at Assumption in Week 4 and will forfeit its remaining games.
