Shreveport Police seek Latoya Chalmers in theft, elder exploitation case

Detectives are investigating 61 questioned ATM withdrawals totaling $61,000 from the accounts of an elderly couple allegedly made by Latoya Chalmers, who was trusted to care for them.

Investigators said the withdrawals were $1,000 each. Surveillance footage showed Chalmers making seven of the withdrawals.

On Oct. 7, Judge Chris Victory signed a warrant charging Chalmers with theft and exploitation of elderly persons or persons with infirmities.

Anyone with information about Chalmers’ whereabouts is asked to contact Shreveport Police or submit an anonymous tip through Shreveport-Caddo Crime Stoppers.
