Shreveport police arrest suspect following armed robbery and gunfire

Shreveport Police arrested Marta Criss following an armed robbery and two incidents involving gunfire on Sept. 30.

Officers responded to a hotel at 6245 Westport Avenue, where a male victim reported that someone he had just met at a nearby gas station robbed him at gunpoint.

The victim told investigators he invited Criss to his hotel room to hang out. While inside, the two smoked marijuana. When the victim reached into his purse for a cigar, Criss reportedly spotted the money inside and attempted to take the purse.

According to the victim, Criss then pulled a firearm, fired a shot inside the room and fled with the purse and money. The victim was not shot.

Officers also responded to a nearby restaurant after a shot was fired inside a restroom. Surveillance footage connected Criss to both incidents. Patrol officers searched the area and located Criss in the hotel parking lot.

During questioning, Criss admitted to firing the shot inside the restaurant restroom, claiming it was accidental.

Criss was booked into the Shreveport City Jail on one count of Armed Robbery with a Firearm and two counts of Illegal Discharge of a Firearm.
