Nine Shreveport-Bossier teams headed home happy after their Week 3 high school football contests, and seven posted double-digit victories.
But not all were were a blowout. Captain Shreve had to rally after halftime to topple Northwood.
Even in defeat, there were encouraging signs for two winless small schools. Magnolia School of Excellence and Plain Dealing each scored a pair of touchdowns, getting to try conversions for the first time this season, and both were competitive into the second half after lopsided defeats in the first two weeks.
Parkway’s romp over Red River came despite the Bulldogs controlling the ball for nearly all of the first half. The Panthers had run just 14 plays in the first two quarters before dominating the final 24 minutes.
