Funeral services for Charles Stanley Williams, 78, of Coushatta, LA will be held at 1 P.M. Saturday, September 12, 2026, at Rockett-Nettles Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. John Sumler officiating. Interment will follow in Bethany Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 P.M. until 9 P.M. Friday, September 11, 2026, at the funeral home.
Charles was born August 6, 1948, in Shreveport, LA and passed away September 6, 2026. Mr. Williams served his country as a Sergeant during the Vietnam War in the United States Army. “Charlie,” as he was known to many, was a kind and caring man who was always willing to lend a helping hand. A devoted cattleman, he loved spending time outdoors farming, tending to his cows, and baling hay. Wednesdays often found him at the livestock auction, enjoying the company and atmosphere he loved so much. He took great pride in his taxidermy work, dedicating countless hours to his craft. Charlie also enjoyed hunting, fishing, attending rodeos to watch the bull riding, and cheering on Dale Earnhardt during NASCAR races.
Affectionately known as “Paw” by his family, he was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who deeply treasured every moment spent with those he loved. Some of his happiest times were spent riding around on his Rhino with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was always willing to clean whatever fish, deer, or other animal they brought to his house, turning those moments into memories they would cherish forever. He also loved watching Western movies and television shows with anyone willing to sit and enjoy them alongside him with either a jolly rancher or a peppermint to share. Paw will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rose Margaret Williams and Douglas Walter Williams.
Mr. Williams is survived by his wife, Pam Williams of 56 years of Coushatta, LA; two children, Virginia Williams and husband, Floyd of Coushatta, LA and Rodney Williams and wife, Brandi of Coushatta, LA; five grandchildren: Austin McCrory and wife, Atlanta, Morgan Fowler and husband, Dalton, Charli Williams and fiancé Malik, Heather Williams, and Denver Williams and fiancé Kelcee and eleven great-great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Austin McCrory, Denver Williams, Dalton Fowler, Malik Gay, Drew Curry, and Jacob Rogers. Honorary pallbearers will be Floyd Williams, Rodney Williams, Jonathan Curry, Buddy Grappe, David Yount, and Kenneth Downs.
The family would like to extend a special thank-you to Hospice of Natchitoches for the compassionate care and support they provided throughout his journey with Alzheimer’s disease. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in his honor.
