Billy John Bonacci Sr., 57, of Bethany, Louisiana, passed away on September 1, 2026, following a courageous battle with cancer. Born on December 30, 1968, in Bossier, Louisiana, to James (Bill) and Carolyn Bonacci, Billy lived a life rooted in service, hard work, a deep love for the outdoors, and a lifelong curiosity for the world around him.
A proud veteran, Billy served his country in the U.S. Air Force before dedicating several years of service to the community as a Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Deputy. Later in life, he applied his skilled craftsmanship as a machinist at Jeamar Winches. An avid reader with a sharp mind, he possessed a deep love for learning and continually expanding his knowledge. Outside of his intellectual pursuits, Billy found his greatest peace in nature—whether he was tending to his garden, hunting, fishing, or making cherished memories on quality family camping trips in Arkansas. He was always most at home under the open sky.
He is survived by his parents, Bill and Carolyn Bonacci; his brother, Mike (Sylvia) Bonacci; his sister, Brandi (Foster) Hale; his three half-brothers, Jimmy, Vincent, and David Bonacci; his four children, Billy Jr. (Meagan) Bonacci, Chance (Connor) Bonacci, Alyssa (Chandler) Garrard, and Eli (Tori) Bonacci; 10 cherished grandchildren, Jensen, Jonas, Elizabeth, Saylor, Barrett, Emmalynn, Sophia-Mae, Arwyn, Oliver, and Easton; as well as several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, who will all forever carry the warmth of his love.
The family extends their deepest gratitude to the nurses for their compassionate care, kindness, and support during Billy’s illness.
Visitation will be held on September 8, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Boone Funeral Home, with a graveside service to follow at 11:30 AM at Haughton Cemetery on Highway 157.
Service will be officiated by Raymond Wilkinson. Paul Bearers are Billy Bonacci Jr., Chance Bonacci, Eli Bonacci, Mike Bonacci, Chandler Garrard, and John McGrath. Honorary Paul Bearers are Micheal Bonacci and Sonny.
