The Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office is proud to recognize Justin Adkins of our Fleet Maintenance for an outstanding professional achievement and his continued commitment to excellence in his trade.
On June 20, Justin traveled to Longview, Texas, where he completed specialized training and earned his certification as an Emergency Vehicle Technician (EVT) through the Emergency Vehicle Technician Certification Commission (EVTCC).
Justin previously earned the distinction of Master Automobile Technician through the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE). The ASE Master Certification demonstrates advanced expertise in automotive diagnostics and repair, while the EVT certification recognizes specialized expertise in the installation and servicing of law-enforcement vehicle equipment.
Together, these credentials demonstrate Justin’s ability to diagnose, repair, install and maintain a law-enforcement vehicle as one complete, integrated system.
Justin’s level of certification is rare. He is one of only two mechanics in Louisiana and one of just 234 mechanics nationwide to simultaneously hold both an ASE Master Automobile Technician certification and EVT certification.
Sheriff Julian Whittington said, “I am extremely proud of Justin and the commitment he has made to mastering his profession. Achievements like this don’t happen without hard work, dedication and a willingness to continually improve. The Bossier Sheriff’s Office is fortunate to have talented people like Justin who take pride in what they do and understand how important their work is to the men and women serving our community.”
Justin’s expertise plays an important role behind the scenes, helping ensure our deputies have the equipment and vehicles they can depend on every day.
Congratulations, Justin, on this outstanding achievement! We are proud to have you on the Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office team.
