The Shreveport Police Department Special Response Team was called to assist the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office in the Hosston area on Aug. 28 after federal law enforcement agents tracked a wanted violent offender from Tennessee to rural Caddo Parish.

The suspect, Gerald Dodson, was believed to be hiding in the area. Due to the nature of the suspect and the potential danger involved, the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office requested assistance from the Shreveport Police Department Special Response Team.

Through coordinated planning and cooperation between local and federal law enforcement agencies, Dodson was located and taken into custody without incident.
