Heading into Week 1 of high school football, no local public school is getting any attention in voting for the Louisiana Sports Writers Association state top 10 polls.

Calvary Baptist (Class 2A) and Loyola (3A) are ranked in their respective top 10s. Evangel is getting votes in Class 5A.

Byrd (vs. defending Non-Select Division I champion Ouachita) and Parkway (vs. defending Select Division III winner Dunham) will play ranked teams in Week 1.

Area schools North DeSoto, Logansport and Haynesville are highly ranked in their classifications.
