Shreveport Police detectives assisted the Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office on Aug. 20 in locating a utility trailer that had been stolen from Haughton the previous day.

Investigators tracked the trailer to a storage facility on E. Bert Kouns and obtained a search warrant. The stolen trailer was found inside a unit associated with 37-year-old Joshua Oakes. The trailer’s license plate had also been removed.

Detectives then waited for the owner to arrive and recover the trailer. Oakes arrived at the scene and was taken into custody.

Oakes was charged with illegal possession of stolen things.
