Shreveport police continue impaired-driving enforcement

The Shreveport Police Department continues its effort to combat impaired driving and keep dangerous drivers off roadways.

The department’s DWI Unit has made numerous arrests for DWI and DWI-related traffic offenses over the past several days.

Recent arrests include:

Aug. 13

• Robert Demmings — DWI 1st Offense and failure to stop at a stop sign

Aug. 14

• Richard Ance — DWI 1st Offense

• Sean Merritt — operating a vehicle while under suspension for DWI and no license plate light

Aug. 15

• Steve Daykin — DWI 1st Offense and improper lane usage

• Ladesmeiona Bowen — DWI 1st Offense, improper lane usage and no driver’s license

• Elise Randall — DWI 1st Offense and improper lane usage

• William Campbell — DWI 1st Offense and careless operation

Aug. 16

• Maya Shepherd — DWI 2nd Offense, driving under suspension, stop sign violation and open alcoholic container

• Christopher Jones — DWI 2nd Offense and speeding

• Breon Savannah — DWI 2nd Offense, reckless operation and open alcoholic container

• Sherri Lane — DWI 1st Offense, careless operation and open alcoholic container

• Kashunta Mack — DWI 1st Offense and speeding

• Jasah Jahi — DWI 1st Offense and red-light violation

• Charles Williams — DWI 1st Offense, stop sign violation and open alcoholic container

• Angel Jones — DWI 1st Offense, careless operation and open alcoholic container

Aug. 17

• Christopher Bell — DWI 1st Offense

Aug. 18

• Don Cook — arrested on outstanding charges related to DWI 1st Offense

• David Lewis — arrested on outstanding charges related to DWI 1st Offense

The department said impaired driving puts everyone at risk and its officers will continue enforcing Louisiana’s impaired-driving laws.

The department encouraged drivers who have been drinking to call a friend, use a rideshare service or make another plan rather than drive.
