Highway 71 will remain closed between Highway 154 and Highway 527 through Tuesday, Aug. 18.

Crews with Canadian Pacific Kansas City Railroad continue working to clear the area and complete the necessary work to safely reopen the roadway to traffic.

Motorists are urged to avoid the area and use alternate routes until the roadway is reopened. Drivers should plan accordingly and allow additional travel time.

The Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office will provide further updates if the reopening timeline changes.
